Let me start off by saying thank you for\r\nyour patriotism and support of our troops. I know it means a lot to\r\nSoldiers to receive this kind of love from back home. President George\r\nWashington said, \"The willingness with which our young people are likely to\r\nserve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional as\r\nto how they perceive the veterans of earlier war were treated and\r\nappreciated by the nation.\" I know our Soldier appreciate your support.\r\n\r\nMy name is Andrew Lee and I am the Battalion Chaplain for the 158th Combat\r\nSustainment Support Battalion of the Arizona Army National Guard out of\r\nTucson, Arizona currently deployed to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. We\r\nhave about 80 soldiers that deployed from Arizona and we are the higher\r\nheadquarters for over 1000 Soldiers here in Afghanistan from ActiveDuty and\r\nReserve units. Our mission surrounds providing logistical support for\r\nSouthern Afghanistan, which includes running supplies to our front-line\r\nfighters via convoy and air drops. \r\n\r\nSome items that have been highly requested have been<\/span>:\r\n-plastic soap dishes (to carry soap back and forth from the shower)\r\n-shaving cr\u00e8me (for both male and female)\r\n-magnetic baskets (all our rooms have metal walls, and is a way to maximize\r\nspace)\r\n-movies\r\n-deodorant (not highly requested now, but I'm sure will become an item once\r\nit starts to heat up)\r\n-Fruity Snacks (from Kellogg's)\r\n-stress balls\r\n\r\nSome items we have more than enough of:\r\n-hot chocolate mix\r\n-board games\r\n\r\nSome items that I am requesting as a chaplain<\/span>:\r\n-anti-fatigue mats (like the ones cashiers stand on).
